We had not extensively covered this region in the Fallout lore extensively, commented the development lead. From our existing territory, if you move east, you begin entering the Capital Wasteland. That area is well established. The Ohio territory hasn't really been touched on too much. Accordingly, this installment being set earliest in the series history gives us numerous storytelling options. The team wanted to discover what's occurring in this new region!

Finding Influence from Fan Favorites

What immediately catches attention about Fallout 76's version of this new territory is that it's presented as a dry environment.
